2019 Pet Madness Contest Official Rules

Eligibility:  The Cutest Pet Contest is open to all readers of the CNHI LLC dba News and Tribune. Contest is open to photos of pets living as of 6/1/19.  Employees of the News and Tribune as well as immediate family members are not eligible to win.

Registration Entry Period: Period: Entries will be accepted beginning 12am, Saturday, June 1, 2019. Entry deadline is 12pm, Wednesday, July 5, 2019.

How to Enter: Enter by submitting a completed entry form as well as a photo of the pet.  Entries must be submitted by an adult 18 years or older at the time of submission. Digital photos must be uploaded in JPG format and 300 dpi.  Only one photo entered per pet. Name of pet, breed (if applicable), person submitting the photo, e-mail address and phone number must be submitted on the official entry.  By submitting this information, the News and Tribune reserves the right to use the pet's photo and name in any print products of the News and Tribune as well as on its website.  Printed photos submitted in person will not be returned under any circumstances. Professional photographs cannot be accepted.

Online Entry: Visit the News and Tribune’s website at www.newsandtribune.com.  Complete the entry form and all requested information. Upload photo and click SUBMIT.  Your computer must accept cookies, or any successor or similar technology, which may be used for entry tracking. Online votes may be submitted using a valid credit card including: MasterCard, Visa and Discover. (min. $5.00 online charge). Only valid, authorized credit card transactions will be considered as a legitimate vote. All authorized credit card transactions are non-cancelable and non-refundable. If your credit card is declined for any reason, no vote will be submitted on your behalf.

Mail or In Person Entry: Complete the entry form found in the printed edition of the News and Tribune as well as the News and Tribune office located at 221 Spring Street, Jeffersonville, IN 47130. Entries may be delivered or mailed to the News and Tribune office.   Mail to, "Pet Madness," 221 Spring Street, Jeffersonville IN 47130.

Voting and Rules: Voting will be done in three rounds. The first round of voting will begin at 12:01 a.m. (EST) Tuesday, July 9, 2019 and conclude at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019.  Votes may be submitted in-person or by mail at the News and Tribune office, or online.  Mailed and in-person votes must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019.  The top 16 entries receiving votes during Round One will move on to the second round of voting.   The second round of voting will begin 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 and end at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019.  Mailed and in-person votes must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019.   The top 8 entries receiving votes during Round Two will move on to the third round of voting.   The third and final round of voting will begin 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 and end at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019.  Mailed and in-person votes must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019.   

Votes may be made at the News and Tribune, mailed or online. Voting totals will be posted online daily. Voting is open to the general public and costs $1 per vote (min. $5.00 online charge).  Voting is limited to persons 18 years or older.  There is no limit on the amount of votes a person can cast.  Your computer must accept cookies, or any successor or similar technology, which may be used for tracking.  Ad blocking software on your computer needs to be disabled so that is does not interfere with processing your entry.

News and Tribune will not be responsible for any incomplete, lost, late, postage due or illegible entries.  In the event of a dispute, all online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the ISP account from which they were sent.
Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted or the owner of an ISP account shall be determined by the News and Tribune. News and Tribune reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the contest.

Winner Determination: Winners will be determined by the total number of votes received in each round. The pet(s) with the most votes in the current round will proceed to the next round. Votes from a round will NOT carry over to all following rounds. In the event of a tie, News and Tribune will randomly pick the winner from the tied entries.  Winners will be announced in the Friday, August 9, 2019 edition of the News and Tribune.

Prizes: First place winner will receive a $300 debit card and a photo session with our staff photographer. Second place winner will receive a photo session with our staff photographer. Third place winner will receive a photo session with our staff photographer.

Winner Notification: All owners of winning pets grant the right to the News and Tribune to publish the photo of their pet in the Pet Madness Contest and Pet Madness photo calendar.  A valid photo ID of the owner may be required.  Winners may waive their right to receive prizes.  Prizes are nontransferable and there will be no substitutions allowed by winner. The News and Tribune reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.  Winners are responsible for reporting and payment of any tax on prizes.  Winners may be required to complete an affidavit and publicity release, which must be returned within 10 days of personal delivery or date of postmark.  Failure to sign and return the affidavit or to comply with any terms or conditions of the official rules may result in disqualification and a substitute may be awarded.

Participation: By participating in the Pet Madness contest, entrants are bound to the official rules and regulations. The News and Tribune reserves the right to disqualify any persons tampering with or abusing the contest.  In the event this contest is compromised by any non-authorized human intervention, tampering or other cause beyond the control of the News and Tribune, the News and
Tribune reserves the right to suspend, modify or terminate the Pet Madness Contest.  Should the contest be terminated prior to the expiration date, the News and Tribune reserves the right to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date.

All on-line payments will go through our Administrator "Advanced Pre Press Technology Inc., Burbank, CA. Any charges incurred will show up as "Online Contest-APT" on your statement.

The Pet Madness Contest is sponsored by the News and Tribune. The News and Tribune reserves the right to make all decisions regarding the selection of winners and all other aspects of the contest. The News and Tribune will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in the Official Rules or other materials regarding the contest.
