2.  PARTICIPATION CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF RULES AND DECISIONS, CONSENT TO USE AND RELEASE OF CLAIMS. By entering this sweepstakes, each participant warrants that he or she has read and agrees to abide by all sweepstakes rules ("Official Rules") and that he or she is not prohibited from participating in the sweepstakes. Participation in this sweepstakes constitutes participant^'s full and unconditional acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of CNHI, LLC, The Richmond Register and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, employees and agents (collectively "CNHI"), which are final, binding and non-negotiable in all respects. Each participant agrees to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless CNHI and its subsidiaries, affiliates, shareholders, employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers from any liability arising from or related to the sweepstakes and/or the receipt or use of the prize awarded in connection with the sweepstakes, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. Further, participant fully and unconditionally releases all claims for consideration, copyright infringement and all other claims of any nature relating to the use of participant's entry, name or likeness.

3.  ELIGIBILITY. This sweepstakes is open to legal permanent residents of the U.S. and District of Columbia, 18 years of age and older, excluding residents of Rhode Island.  Proof of age and identity must be furnished upon request.  Contest is open to pets living as of March 21, 2022.  Employees, agents, independent contractors and affiliates of CNHI and immediate family members of all such persons, are not eligible to participate in this sweepstakes. CNHI reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, suspend or amend this sweepstakes at any time for any reason without prior notice. CNHI further reserves the right to amend these Official Rules at any time without prior notice, in its sole discretion. CNHI reserves the right to disqualify any participant for any reason, including, but not limited to, violation of these Official Rules or infringement of the rights of a third-party. This promotion is void where prohibited by law. CNHI is not responsible for any printing or typographical errors in any material associated with the sweepstakes.

4.  TO ENTER. This sweepstakes will run between 12:01 am Eastern on Monday, March 21, 2022 until 9:00 pm Eastern on Sunday, May 1, 2022 (“Sweepstakes Period”). 

Registration: To enter, participants must go to www.richmondregister.com and click on the Richmond Register Cutest Pet Contest button & complete the online registration form. By submitting this information, the Richmond Register reserves the right to use the pet’s photo and name in any print products of the Richmond Register as well as on its website.

Only valid, authorized credit card transactions will be considered as a legitimate vote. All authorized credit card transactions are non-cancellable and non-refundable. If your credit card is declined for any reason, no vote will be submitted on your behalf.

All completed entries must be received no later than 9:00 pm on the last day of the Registration Period to be eligible to win the prize ("Eligible Entries").  Submissions received after this date and time will not be valid. Only one entry per individual. Personal information collected from entries is subject to the Privacy Policy as set forth at www.richmondregister.com which is incorporated herein by reference.  Proof of submission does not constitute proof of delivery. By submitting an entry, participants agree to abide by these Official Rules. Automated entries or entries generated by robots or scripts are prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification of any and all associated entrants.  Persons submitting entries under false pretenses will be disqualified. For any online entries, if applicable, if for any reason the Internet portion of the sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including infection by a computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the sweepstakes, CNHI reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the sweepstakes. CNHI reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the sweepstakes. 5.  TO WIN. On Sunday, May 1, 2022 at approximately 9:00 pm Eastern (the “Drawing Date”), one (1) eligible entry will be chosen as first, second & third place winners based on the total number of votes received during Round 2 of voting. In the event of a tie, the newspaper will randomly pick the winner from the tied entries. A winner need not be present to win.  Limit of one winner per household.

6.  PRIZES. The first place prize is a $200 Visa Gift Card; The second place prize is a $100 Visa Gift Card; The third place prize is $50 Visa Gift Card.  The approximate retail value of all prizes is Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350 U.S.).  If a trip is included in the prize package, if applicable, winners must provide their own transportation to and from the destination.  The stay may be subject to certain restrictions.  Winners agree to be responsible for any and all additional charges including, without limitation, meals and incidentals. The winners do not have choice of trip options. Expenses not stated are solely the responsibility of the winners. If a gift card is included in the prize package, if applicable, lost or stolen gift cards cannot be replaced. There are no service fees or expiration dates connected with the use of the gift cards. To check a balance follow the instructions on the gift card. 7.  IDENTIFICATION OF WINNERS.  Winners will be contacted using the information provided during registration.  All owners of winning pets grant the Richmond Register the right to publish the photo of their pet.  A valid photo ID of the owner may be required.  Winners may waive their right to receive prizes.  Prizes are nontransferable and there will be no substitutions allowed by winner. The Richmond Register reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.  Winners are responsible for reporting and payment of any tax on prizes.  Winners may be required to complete an affidavit and publicity release, which must be returned within 10 days of personal delivery or date of postmark.  Failure to sign and return the affidavit or to comply with any terms or conditions of the official rules may result in disqualification.

8.  ODDS: The odds of winning will depend upon the number of Eligible Entries received.

This sweepstakes is governed and construed under the laws of the State of Kentucky excluding its conflict of laws principles. Participation: By participating in the Cutest Pet contest, entrants are bound to the official rules and regulations. The Richmond Register reserves the right to disqualify any persons tampering with or abusing the contest.  In the event this contest is compromised by any non-authorized human intervention, tampering or other cause beyond the control of the Richmond Register, the Richmond Register reserves the right to suspend, modify or terminate the Cutest Pet contest. Should the contest be terminated prior to the expiration date, the Richmond Register reserves the right to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date.
