2009 Baby Contest Official Rules

Eligibility:  The 2009 Baby Calendar is open to all residents of the United States.  Contest is open to photos of children taken prior to their 4th birthday.  Employees of The Hendricks County Flyer and Indiana Marketing Group as well as immediate family members are not eligible to win.

Entry Period: Contest will begin at 12:01 am November 10, 2008 and ends Monday, November 24, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.

How to Enter: Enter by submitting a completed Entry form as well as a photo of the baby and a $10 entry fee (cash, check, money order, credit card).  Entries must be submitted by an adult 18 years or older at the time of submission.  Photo of the baby must have been taken prior to the child’s 4th birthday (regardless of current age).  Digital photos must be sent in jpg form and 240 dpi.  Only one photo entered per child.  Name of baby, person submitting the photo and phone number must be listed on the back of the photo.  By submitting this information, The Hendricks County Flyer reserves the right to use the baby’s photo and name in any print products of The Hendricks County Flyer as well as on its website.  Checks for entry may be made payable to The Hendricks County Flyer.  Photos will not be returned unless requested along with a S.A.S.E.  Professional photographs, Kiosk and color printer photos cannot be accepted.

Online Entry: Visit The Hendricks County Flyer website at www.theflyergroup.com.  Complete the entry form and all requested information.  Upload photo, submit payment and click SUBMIT.  Your computer must accept cookies, or any successor or similar technology, which may be used for entry tracking.

Mail or In Person Entry: Complete the entry form found in editions of The Hendricks County Flyer as well as The Hendricks County Flyer office located at 8109 Kingston Street, Avon, Indiana.  Entries may be delivered or mailed to The Hendricks County Flyer office.   Mail to, “Baby Calendar Photos” Hendricks County Flyer, 8109 Kingston St ,Suite 500, Avon, IN 46123.  Entries must be postmarked by November 19th, 2008 and received no later than November 21, 2008.

Photos will be published in The Hendricks County Flyer on Tuesday November 27, Thursday  November 29, and Tuesday  December 2 and December 4,  as well as online from November 25 through December  5, 2008.  The 2009 Baby Calendar featuring baby photos and event sponsors will be inserted January 1, 2009 in The Hendricks County Flyer.

Voting and Rules: The voting period begins 12:01 am Tuesday, November 25, 2008 and will end at 5:00 p.m. December 5, 2008.  Votes may be made at the Hendricks County Flyer, mailed or online.  Mailed votes must be postmarked by Wednesday, December 3, 2008 and received on or before December 5, 2008.  In person votes as well as online votes must be received by 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008.  Voting totals will be posted online weekly. 

Voting is open to the general public and costs 25 cents per vote (min. $5.00 online charge).  Voting is limited to persons 18 years or older.  There is no limit on the amount of votes a person can cast.  Your computer must accept cookies, or any successor or similar technology, which may be used for tracking.  Ad blocking software on your computer needs to be disabled so that is does not interfere with processing your entry.

The Hendricks County Flyer will not be responsible for any incomplete, lost, late, postage due or illegible entries.  In the event of a dispute, all online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the ISP account from which they were sent.

Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted or the owner of an ISP account shall be determined by The Hendricks County Flyer.  The Hendricks County Flyer reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the contest.

Winner Determination: Winners will be determined by the total number of votes received.  In the event of a tie, The Hendricks County Flyer will randomly pick the winner from the tied entries.  Winners will be announced in the December 9, 2008 edition of The Hendricks County Flyer.

Prizes: First place winner will receive a $2500 U.S. Savings Bond and will have their photo published on the cover of the 2009 Baby Calendar.  Second Place winner will receive a $1000 U.S. Savings Bond. Third Place winner will receive a $500 U.S. Savings Bond.  The first place winner will appear on the cover, 2nd, 3rd and the next 10 highest voted photos will appear in the 2009 Baby Calendar.  Top 100 babies with the most votes will also appear in the calendar.  Placement of the photos will be determined by The Hendricks County Flyer.  The 2009 Baby Calendar will appear in The Hendricks County Flyer on Thursday January 1, 2009.  Additional copies can be purchased at The Hendricks County Flyer office beginning January 2, 2009 for a $2.00 fee while supplies last.

Winner Notification: All parents/legal guardians of winners grant the right to The Hendricks County Flyer to publish the photo of their child in the 2009 Baby Calendar.  A valid photo ID of the parent or legal guardian may be required.  Winners may waive their right to receive prizes.  Prizes are nontransferable and there will be no substitutions allowed by winner.  The Hendricks County Flyer reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.  Winners are responsible for reporting and payment of any tax on prizes.  Winners may be required to complete an affidavit and publicity release, which must be returned within 10 days of personal delivery or date of postmark.  Failure to sign and return the affidavit or to comply with any terms or conditions of the official rules may result in disqualification and a substitute may be awarded.

Participation: By participating in the 2009 Baby Calendar contest, entrants are bound to the official rules and regulations.  The Hendricks County Flyer reserves the right to disqualify any persons tampering with or abusing the contest.  In the event this contest is compromised by any non-authorized human intervention, tampering or other cause beyond the control of The Hendricks County Flyer, The Hendricks County Flyer reserves the right to suspend, modify or terminate the 2009 Baby Calendar Contest.  Should the contest be terminated prior to the expiration date, The Hendricks County Flyer reserves the right to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date.

The 2009 Baby Calendar Contest is sponsored by The Hendricks County Flyer.  The Hendricks County Flyer reserves the right to make all decisions regarding the selection of winners and all other aspects of the contest.  The Hendricks County Flyer will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in the Official Rules or other materials regarding the contest.  For a copy of the Official Rules please visit our website at www.flyergroup.com or send a S.A.S.E. to 2009Baby Contest, 8109 Kingston St, Suite 500.
